A pinch pot (or thumb pot) is an ancient form of pottery. Both Mr. Hughes' and Mrs. Wildes' students studied ancient civilizations in social studies earlier this school year. They utilized this project to expand the students' knowledge about the subject matter. Special thanks to parent volunteer Henrietta DeGroot who demonstrated for the students how to work with clay. She will fire the students' clay pots in her kiln, glazed, and return them to students when they're ready. Students' creativity shined and they created a wide range of clay products, besides pinch pots!
