MCOE Special Education Aide Patrick McCarthy, who is assigned full time to the SFCS campus to assist as needed, brought in his pet albino corn snake, Snowflake, to show Ms. Starchman's third and fourth graders. Mr. McCarthy read a story that provided many interesting facts about snakes, such as how they eat and how they shed their skin. As he read the story, he passed around samples of Snowflake's shed skin for students to look at and touch. Following the story, students were excused to the carpet where they sat in a circle and were able to pet the snake one at a time, if they so chose. Thank you Mr. McCarthy for providing such a great science lesson to Room 3!
