Thanks very much to Kids First for awarding two of our teachers who applied for Spring Mini Grants, and thanks to Jetty Uebner (center) for coming by to give out the awards. Teena Starchman (second from left) will be using the grant money to purchase sets of non-fiction books for reading groups. Brandon Kanarowski (second from right) will be using the funds to buy Inquiry-driven learning toys for play-based centers: MagnaTiles, MindWare KEVA Contraptions, MindWare Q-BA-Maze, and Elenco Electric Snap Circuits. They are materials that fit well with the Kindergarten Next Generation Science Standards for both Engineering Design and Forces and Interactions. Congratulations to both teachers. Also in this photo are teachers Erika Miranda (far left) and Wendy Baumann (far right).
