Back in October, students in Mrs. Kanarowski's Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten classroom decided they wanted to collect pennies and other coins to raise money for gift baskets for people who adopt pets from the SPCA. They thought this was a good way to show support and gratitude to the special people who are willing to give a dog or cat from the SPCA a loving new home. They've been collecting and saving ever since. Recently, with the money collected, students purchased items they thought a new pet would love, like toys and pet treats. Last weekend, Mrs. Kanarowski and a few students from her class delivered the baskets to the SPCA. SPCA staff was thrilled with this wonderful project!
