Home School (long term independent study) opportunities are available through Sierra Foothill Charter School for students in grades kindergarten through eighth.
Nestled in the Catheys Valley foothills between Merced and Mariposa, SFCS provides a rigorous, well-rounded education emphasizing science and sustainability, that helps students acquire the academic and personal skills they need to think creatively and critically, engage in a diverse society, excel in higher education and pursue their dreams.
Home school students can take part in some regular classroom offerings in addition to extracurricular activities, including but not limited to field trips, regular service learning classes, special events, assemblies, and a multitude of enrichment activities. There are personal curriculum resources available and a designated Home School Coordinator to help you create the best home school experiences for your child(ren).
SFCS offerings are shaped to suit the needs of participating parents and students, and have thus far included music, visual art, theater, storytelling, yoga, pi day, bring the farm to school days and a variety of events generated by our creative and caring community.
